It's common knowledge that wedding gowns can take several months to be made, but did you know that on average bridesmaids dresses take 12-14 weeks to be made as well? Early deadlines for your bridesmaids will save you all time, hassles and money. Ideally, we reccomend that dresses are ordered at least five months before the wedding to ensure there is plenty of time for the dress to be made, shipped, and altered if needed. Make a party of the day and make an appointment for you and your maids to try on dresses so you can see what everyone is comfortable with. Their are a lot of trends for bridesmaids dresses nowadays and in many cases it is okay to mix and match dresses so your maids can be comfortable on your big day. Certian dress styles are not appropriate for everyone, keep your girls feelings in mind during this event as well as the feelings of your junior bridesmaids parents if there will be lovely young ladies in your ceremony as well. Your big day is about you, but these trips will help save any unecessary tears and bumps down the road by addressing any issues before they arise.

Call ahead of you are planning a wedding out in advance to find out the ship dates for dresses so you will know your deadline for ordering. For older girls junior bridesmaids dresses may be appropriate if you are looking to incorporate them into your special day.

 

Mother of the bride and Mother of the groom dresses are a growing business as mothers are opting for various styles to suit their age and occasion. Be straightforward about what is expected and when possible accompany them for their shopping trips like they would yours. With so many styles and colors it can be a bit overwhemling and if you are looking for them to stay within a certian theme it may be important for you to be there to assist with color and style choice. However, you must keep in mind that they will be wearing this outfit and not you so their overall comfort is important too. Try and find a happy middleground for everyone so no one has hurt feelings on your big day.
